On the 1st of July 2014, The Annual Graduation Ceremony of Palpung Lungrig Jampal Ling Shedra (Monastic College for Higher Buddhist Studies), was held for those who have completed many years of studies and teachings of the Lord Buddha. There was also an announcement of the annual examination results of Palpung Rigney Lobling Dhonnyi Norbu Gatsal (Palpung Monastic University of Tibetan Literature, Art, Medicine and Astrology). Both announcements were held at Palpung Lungrig Jampal Ling Shedra which is under the direction and umbrella of Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat.
The traditional ceremony began with an offering of Body, Speech and Mind to Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa followed with butter tea and sweet rice.
Also, there was an announcement about the Annual Examination Results of Palpung Riglam Kyedtsel, the Monastic School. Young monks gave examinations on different subjects like Tibetan, English, Hindi, Mathematics, General Science, Social Science, and Calligraphy and also oral tests were conducted.
This year 9 monks graduated from Palpung Lungrig Jampal Ling Shedra (Monastic College for Higher Buddhist Studies) and received certificates from Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa. Two Khenpos received the certificate of Khenpo after completion of 16 years of studies and teachings. Six monks who graduated this year were appointed and received the formal title of Lopon.
On the conclusion of the ceremony the most profound and enlightening teaching and advice was given by Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa for the Khenpos and students on this very auspicious day, the day that the Lord Buddha turned the Wheel of Dharma for the first time at Sarnath-Varanasi, North India which is one of the holiest and sacred day of Buddhism.
