Renunciation in the Three Yanas

Renunciation in the Three Yanas
by the 12th Chamgon Tai Situ Rinpoche
Renunciation and abandonment are two totally different things—you renounce you for them, or you renounce them for you. It is quite easy to understand, but it has to be said in this manner to understand. Renunciation is a must, we must renounce. Otherwise, without renunciation of something we get nowhere. For example, if you want to keep your potatoes uncooked you would never get mashed potatoes—you have to renounce fresh potatoes in order to get mashed potatoes.
