Mindrolling holds special prayer ceremony
On the auspicious full moon day of the 10th Lunar month of year of the Water Dragon (November 28, 2012), the Mindrolling Monastery organized a prayer ceremony to commemorate the selfless sacrifice of the 90 brave Tibetans who laid down their lives through self-immolation for Tibet’s Freedom and the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet. The prayer ceremony was presided by H.E. Penam Rinpoche, H.E. Jetsun Khandro Rinpoche and Ven. Tulku Lhundrub Tengay of Mindrolling.

The ceremony began with offerings made to the throne of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, followed by the entire gathering observing a minute of silence as a mark of respect to all the brave martyrs of Tibet.
Dedon Tinlay Jigme la addressed the entire gathering and expressed deep respect for the courageous men and women who have since 2009 offered their own lives through self-immolation for the freedom of Tibet. He called on everyone to support their selfless actions by understanding the lack of human right situation in Tibet and the need to demand freedom.
The assembly of more than 1500 people recited numerous prayers, lit candles, circumambulated the Great Stupa, and offered khatags to the throne of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the photographs of the brave martyrs of Tibet. Thousands of butter lamps, candles and flower offerings were made by the monastery and hundreds of people reciting prayers continued to circumambulate the great Mindrolling Stupa for Peace through the night dedicating their thoughts and prayers for the 90 brave Tibetans whose selfless offering for their country will always be remembered.
