One of our most committed donors has just established a $50,000 Matching Gift Fund.
With your help and gifts from other supporters, this Fund can mean a total of $100,000 for ICT's vital work.
Any contribution you make between now and November 30 will be doubled by the Matching Gift Fund, dollar for dollar.
Because of your commitment to ICT and the Tibetan people, I knew you'd want to help us make the most of this opportunity - and you'd want to double the impact of your support.
Your $50 gift becomes $100 . . . $250 becomes $500 . . . $500 becomes $1,000!
If ever there was a time to be generous, that time is now.
We've increased our efforts this year to expose the real situation in Tibet, to help Tibetan refugees and political prisoners, and to inspire new champions for the Tibet cause. And we need the help of all our friends because the facts are grim:
- A climate of fear dominates Tibet. Chinese government policies include torture and imprisonment for peaceful protests.
- Expressing devotion to the Dalai Lama or passing news to the outside world can be a punishable crime. Chinese authorities monitor Tibetan cell phone and internet traffic.
- Tibetans are routinely denied due process of law, even in cases where conviction could end with the death penalty.
- Those Tibetans who risk their lives to seek freedom in exile face a heightened threat of arrest on both sides of the Himalayas, thanks to China's growing influence in Nepal.
If you can, I hope you will give generously. Your donation will be matched up to a total of $50,000 and have double the impact - giving a big boost to our work on behalf of Tibetans at this critical time.
With my thanks,
Mary Beth Markey
P.S. To ensure your gift is matched dollar for dollar, please respond by November 30. And if you prefer to mail your donation, click here to download a "matching gift by mail" form. Thank you!
