Una declaración budista acerca del cambio climático.

En el periodo previo a la crucial Conferencia de la ONU en Copenhague sobre el clima, (U.N. Climate Treaty Conference in Copenhagen

) en Diciembre de 2009, la declaración que sigue presentará a los medios de comunicación mundiales una perspectiva espiritual única del cambio climático y la responsabilidad urgente que tenemos para llegar a soluciones. Emergió de las contribuciones de más de 20 maestros budistas de todas las tradiciones en el libro A Buddhist Response to the Climate Emergency

y fue escrita como una declaración budista ecuménica por el maestro zen Dr. David Tetsuun y el reconocido maestro theravada Ven. Bhikkhu Bodhi,, contando con la información científica de Dr. John Stanley.

El primero en firmar esta declaración fue el Dalai Lama. Invitamos a todos aquellos miembros de la comunidad budista internacional preocupados por el tema a que estudien el documento y añadan su voz firmando al final del documento.

A Buddhist Declaration on Climate Change

In the run-up to the crucial U.N. Climate Treaty Conference in Copenhagen

in December 2009, the Declaration that follows will present to the world's media a unique spiritual view of climate change and our urgent responsibility to address the solutions. It emerged from the contributions of over 20 Buddhist teachers of all traditions to the book A Buddhist Respose to the Climate Emergency

. The Time to Act is Now was composed as a pan-Buddhist statement by Zen teacher Dr David Tetsuun Loy and senior Theravadin teacher Ven. Bhikkhu Bodhi with scientific input from Dr John Stanley.
The Dalai Lama was the first to sign this Declaration. We invite all concerned members of the international Buddhist community to study the document and add their voice by co-signing it at the end of this page.
