Take action now button
Your help is needed right away and in less then a minute you can help support Tibetans at Kirti Monastery in Ngaba by sending a message to John Huntsman, the U.S. Ambassador to China.

Please take action now -
we need to send as many messages to Ambassador Huntsman as quickly as possible before the situation at Kirti escalates further.

Tensions have continued to intensify in the area since a 20-year old monk, Phuntsog, set fire to himself and died on the third anniversary of a major protest in Ngaba (Chinese: Aba) last month. According to the latest information from the area, the monastery remains under government lockdown and is currently surrounded by armed troops.

The U.S. State Department expressed its concern about the "onerous restrictions on the monks and the general public" in an April 14 statement.  For more information on the developing situation,
visit ICT's News Reports home page.
Please add your voice now by sending a message to Ambassador Hunstman to urge him to take immediate action to press China to de-escalate the situation at Kirti.

Thank you!

Sincerely,
Mary Beth Markey signature
